The “D-3 Event: Dream Cars, Dream House, Dream Cruise,” an event that will benefit the Ronald McDonald House, will be held at the Lingenfelter Collection in Brighton, which includes rare cars such as a LaFerrari and a Lamborghini Reventón.

“This is a unique opportunity to see rare automobiles from long ago to current day,” says Jennifer Litomisky, executive director of the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit. “The museum is not open to the public and visitors can only attend through events like this one.”

The event, held on Aug. 13 two days before the Woodward Dream Cruise, will feature appetizers, drinks, and a view a 190-car collection including Corvettes, a Bugatti Veyron, and an Enzo Ferrari. The newest addition to the collection is the LaFerrari, a hybrid with 789 horsepower and a V-12 engine that accelerates from 0 to 150 miles per hour in 9.8 seconds.

Owners Ken and Kristen Lingenfelter will be at the event, and will answer questions about how the cars were acquired, enhancements made, and how the cars perform.

The event, which costs $60 to attend, will benefit the Ronald McDonald House’s Hearts, Hands, and Home Campaign, a three-year fundraising campaign enabling Ronald McDonald House to triple the number of families with critically ill children served. A raffle will be held for a private tour of the collection by the Lingenfelters.

“The Lingenfelters have really stepped up to ensure that our expansion campaign reaches the next million-dollar level,” Litomisky says.

The new location of the Ronald McDonald House opened in Detroit’s Midtown District April. The 26,000 square-feet house has 28 bedrooms with private bathrooms, including five long-term stay rooms. The house also features a teen room, a garden, a media room, lounge areas, and a kitchen and dining area.
