The Somerset Collection in Troy will add Michigan’s first showroom for Blue Nile, a large online retailer of certified diamonds and fine jewelry. The store, to be located on the first level (center area) of Somerset Collection North, opens on Friday, Nov. 12.

Blue Nile was launched in 1999 as an e-commerce retailer. Today, the brand is opening showrooms in select U.S. cities to offer its expertise in diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals.

Blue Nile’s showroom will provide the opportunity for customers to look, touch, and try on fine jewelry and engagement rings before making a purchase. Additionally, Blue Nile’s Personal Jewelers are available to guide clients through the process of selecting a certain diamond or creating a custom piece of jewelry using their Build Your Own Diamond Jewelry Tool.

The company states it only purchases ethically sourced diamonds through the largest and most respected suppliers that adhere to and enforce the standards established by the Kimberley Process.

Blue Nile offers more than 150,000 loose high-quality diamonds, and no matter the size, all are colorless to faintly colored (D-K color grade) with exceptional clarity (FL-SI2).

The addition of Blue Nile joins several new or expanded retailers at the Somerset Collection in recent months, including Artizia (North, Level 2), Louis Vuitton (South, Level 1), Hermès (South, Level 1), and Fabletics (North, Level 2).
