Z Modular, a division of Chicago’s Zekelman Industries and a shop for modular buildings and services that use a self-bracing structural system, has announced it will open an office in Troy to house its engineering, design, estimating, and sales teams. The scheduled opening date is Aug. 1.

“With multiple projects in our pipeline and new opportunities in the Midwest, I’m excited to open this office in the Detroit metro area,” says Michael Bell, director of engineering for Z Modular, who will lead the team at the new office.

When completed, the office, which will be located at 100 W. Big Beaver Road, will offer open, collaborative space. The team is currently spread out at multiple smaller locations throughout Michigan.

“This new space will help to increase our operational efficiencies and design collaboration going forward,” says Rich Rozycki, senior vice president.

The group will engineer and design steel-framed modular construction solutions for projects across North America. It has most recently been working on a student housing development in Texas that is scheduled to open in early 2019.

The company is hiring more employees.
