Morgan Stanley announced that Christopher T.R. Letts, a senior vice president, family wealth director in Morgan Stanley’s Bloomfield Hills wealth management office, was named by Forbes Magazine as Morgan Stanleys overall number one “Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor” for the state of Michigan.

This is the second consecutive year he has been recognized by Forbes as Morgan Stanley’s top under-40 wealth manager in the state. Letts is a family wealth director — a designation held by roughly 3 percent of Morgan Stanley advisors as of January 2023 — and focuses his work on serving the most affluent clients of the Firm.

He currently manages $1.3 billion in client assets as of the third quarter of 2023 and focuses on advising wealthy families- especially those considering substantial liquidity events due to the sale or recapitalization of a privately held business.

Each year Forbes compiles and publishes a ranking of the nation’s “Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors” honoring professionals who represent the future of the industry. Selection for this list is based on comprehensive criteria, including firm nomination, industry experience and best practices.

“Chris’ back-to-back top ranking by Forbes highlights the reputation he has built in meeting the sophisticated needs of wealthy families and entrepreneurial leaders throughout Michigan” says Mark Feiler, branch manager in the Morgan Stanley Bloomfield Hills office. “He has built a reputation within our organization as a thought leader, and I have seen his passion for serving his clients and advocating for the middle-market business community at-large. He works tirelessly, creatively delivering the global capabilities of our Firm to his clients and we are thrilled to have him on our team.”

Letts is a co-founder of Pine Harbor Group which was ranked by Forbes as one of the top-teams in the State of Michigan in 2022. He is also an alternative investments director and does firm-leading work for high-net-worth clients with non-public investments. Letts holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance (honors) from Michigan State University in East Lansing and sits on its Eli Broad College of Business Finance Advisory Board.
