Last year’s change in ownership has resulted in ALCO Plastics in the Village of Romeo changing its name to WILKO Plastics Inc., which remains an automotive supplier of custom plastic injection molded components and assemblies.

The change was made a year after William L. Kozyra and his son, William L. Kozyra II, acquired ALCO Plastics from its previous family ownership. The rebranding is part of the company’s expansion due to a growing customer base.

The elder Kozyra is WILKO’s chairman. He is the former CEO of TI Fluid Systems and previously Continental AG, North America. The younger Kozyra, WILKO’s president and COO, has established a career in the automotive Industry, having worked for the past 20 years in various manufacturing, purchasing, and logistics positions for Tier 1 and 2 automotive suppliers.

Company officials say they are planning to gear up for growth in the automotive plastic injection business and decided to change its name and corporate branding to reflect the ownership change and position itself for expansion and new business lines.

“It has been an exciting year of growth, process improvements and success as we strive to be a leader and innovator in this complex part of the automotive industry,” says the younger Kozyra.

WILKO has a product line of injection plastic molding products and customizes multi-material products of plastic and metal for interior automotive components such as sealants and plastic sleeves for seat belts and many other components used by tier 1 and OEM automotive customers.

The company has approximately 130 employees and operates three shifts at three production facilities in Romeo. It produces some 75 million molded parts per year and ships products to customers in the U.S. and 15 countries.
