CEO - Outdoor Hub and AG Hub
David Farbman is founder and chairman of Outdoor Hub and AG Hub, a global digital leader with more than 500 "outdoor-related" websites that collectively attract 30 million unique visitors per month. The sites, complemented by the Outdoor Hub Connect ™ content syndication platform, offer engaging reports on a variety of hunting, fishing, recreational, agricultural, and stewardship topics.
While the ecosystem represents the 4th largest male enthusiast audience on the web, behind the ESPN Network, the Sports Illustrated Network, and the NFL Network, Farbman expects to lead the field by 2015.
Founded in 2006, Outdoor Hub and AG Hub were profitable within 18 months. The two companies have grown substantially — with 50 employees working at offices in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Minneapolis. In each of the last two years, more than 30 percent revenue growth has been recorded (A minority share of Outdoor Hub and AG Hub was sold in April 2010 to MK Capital, an institutional investor in Chicago).
Prior to entering the digital space, Farbman spent 12 years at NAI Farbman, a full service commercial real estate company in Southfield, Michigan, with more than 20 million square feet of commercial assets under management. Farbman spent his last 6 years at NAI Farbman as CEO and helped diversify the company's reach into medical and government accounts. He also restored more than 300 historic lofts, helping to spearhead downtown Detroit's redevelopment.
A lifelong sportsman, Farbman attributes much of his success in the business world to lessons learned in the woods. As part of his weekly blog, Nature and the Pursuit of Life, Farbman writes about the parallels between a business professional and a true hunter. His message appeals to anyone that feels a bond with nature or is searching for a new way of thinking that capitalizes on the natural order. The Nature and the Pursuit of Life series has a direct following of more than 3,000 people. Additionally, the Outdoor Hub Connect ™ content syndication platform reaches millions of more users.
An active volunteer, Farbman is a member of the Executive Board of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and the Center For Exceptional Families of Oakwood Hospital. He has served as a board member of the DMC/Harper Hospital's Board of Trustees, the Southeast Region Board of the YMCA, Michigan Economic Development Corp., Detroit Economic Growth Corp., Detroit Regional Chamber, New Detroit, New Center Council, Beyond Basics, Create Detroit, and others.
Farbman is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communications. He is married and a father of three boys.
