Variety Chili, Wings, and Soup(er) Bowl 2019

Variety – the Children’s Charity of Detroit hosted its sixth annual Variety Chili, Wings, and Soup(er) Bowl on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. Guests enjoyed drinks, dancing, and a friendly cook-off featuring local chefs.

The CFA Society Detroit hosted its Auto Show Luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Detroit Athletic Club. The event included lunch, a presentation by Michael Ableson, vice president of global strategy at General Motors, and admission to the North American International Auto Show.

Beyond Basics 2019 Leadership Series: Pursuing Passions

Beyond Basics, a Detroit nonprofit dedicated to literacy, hosted its 2019 Leadership Series: Pursuing Passions event on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Life Remodeled’s Durfee Innovation Center in Detroit. Guest speakers included Joique Bell of the Detroit Lions; J’Leon Love, a professional boxer at Mayweather Promotions; and Chris Lambert, founder and CEO of Life Remodeled; spoke to 80 juniors and seniors from Mumford High School in Detroit (we did not take pictures of the students).

ACG Detroit Wine Down Wednesday

The Association for Corporate Growth Detroit chapter’s Women’s Forum hosted Wine Down Wednesday on Jan. 16 at the Detroit Athletic Club. Guests enjoyed networking, food, and drinks.

Dream Big 2019 AutoGlow

The Dream Big AutoGlow, sponsored by Ford Motor Co., was hosted Friday, Jan. 18 at Ford Field. Guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, drinks, live music, and dancing. Proceeds benefited the 7,500 children and families supported by The Children’s Center, which helps them overcome trauma from abuse, neglect, and poverty.

2019 Charity Preview

The North American International Auto Show capped off its 30th anniversary celebration at Charity Preview at Cobo Center in Detroit on Jan. 18 by raising $4 million for children's charities in the region at what is considered the largest black-tie gala in the world. A total of 10,072 people attended the event, which next year will move to June 12, 2020.

Multiple automakers, suppliers, and related mobility organizations introduced an array of new vehicles and programs during Media Days at the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit, including Buick, Ford, Lincoln, Nissan, and the Detroit Mobility Lab.

During Media Days at the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit, several automakers showed off concept cars and new vehicles, including Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen, and Dodge. Two aircraft companies, ASX in Detroit and Surefly in Cincinnati, also showed off their products.

From Cadillac’s reveal at the Garden Theatre in Detroit on Sunday evening to the first Media Day on Monday, the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit offered new product releases and concept vehicles from domestic and international automakers.

The Gallery at MGM Grand Detroit 2019

On Saturday, Jan. 12, American Express and the North American International Auto Show hosted The Gallery at MGM Grand Detroit. The evening included a strolling dinner at Top Golf followed by a display of luxury vehicles, including three Ferraris, a Ford GT, a Lincoln Aviator, and the first SUV by Rolls-Royce, called the Cullinan.

MAIN Event at the Max M. Fisher Music Center

The 2019 MotorCity Automotive Industry Night (MAIN) Event opened the North American International Auto Show festivities on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. Hosted by Lawrence Technological University, the program recognized automotive industry executives and automotive-design work by students.
