Dearborn’s Automotive Hall of Fame to Honor GM Executive Steven Kiefer

The Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn will honor Steven Kiefer, senior vice president of global purchasing and supply chain at General Motors Co., with its Distinguished Service Citation at its 2018 Induction and Awards Gala. The ceremony will be held on July 19 at the MGM Grand Detroit. Kiefer will be honored for his work to end distracted driving through the Kiefer Foundation.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan Appoints City’s Chief of Services and Infrastructure

Mayor Mike Duggan has announced the appointment of Arthur Jemison to the newly created position of chief of services and infrastructure, which is part of a reorganization designed to promote improved coordination between city departments. Jemison will leave his position as director of housing and revitalization department, with Donald Rencher replacing him.

Affolter-Caine will oversee all strategic and operational aspects of the URC.

Swift Biosciences Adds Nathan Wood as New CEO

Ann Arbor-based Swift Biosciences, a provider of library prep solutions for genomic sequencing, has named Nathan Wood as CEO. Wood’s hire follows Swift’s relocation and expansion of its headquarters, which doubles the company’s R&D and manufacturing space, as well as the opening of its first west-coast office in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Abbott Nicholson P.C. Elects William Gilbride to Board of Directors of Meritas

Detroit-based Abbott Nicholson P.C. has announced that William D. Gilbride has been involved with Meritas for more than 20 years.
