Detroit-based Covenant House Michigan hosted its annual Sleep Out for executives on Thursday, Nov. 15 at their campus. Covenant House also held a Candlelight Vigil prior to the event at Beacon Park. C-level executives, business owners, organization leaders, and Covenant House board members had the opportunity to sleep outside to raise money and awareness for homeless youth.
The Downtown Detroit Partnership hosted its 2018 Detroit Aglow dinner on Monday, Nov. 19 at MGM Grand Detroit. Guests enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving feast, cocktails, a short program, and gifts. The partnership strives to help businesses, residents, and visitors throughout the downtown’s urban core.
The Michigan chapter of the German American Chambers of Commerce hosted its Fall Dinner on Nov. 14 at the Detroit Institute of Arts. John Hill, CFO of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s office, was the featured guest speaker.
Automation Alley hosted Luminate on Nov. 13 at Detroit’s Renaissance Center. The event served as the kickoff dinner to Automation Alley’s Integr8 2018, a global Industry 4.0 conference. Technology and manufacturing leaders were in attendance, and guests enjoyed a strolling dinner and cocktails.
The fifth annual Hunger Free in the D was held on Monday, Nov. 19 at Lear Corp.’s world headquarters in Southfield. The event, which included a breakfast, raised money for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and Gleaners Community Food Bank, both in Detroit. The program was supported by the Celani Family Foundation and Cars and Cigars Smoke Detroit.
The Parade Co. hosted its 2018 Hob Nobble Gobble presented by Ford Motor Co. on Friday, Nov. 16 at Ford Field. Carnival rides and games, a Parade of Stars, and a meet and greet with Jesse McCartney were included. Proceeds went to the Parade Co. for the America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van.
Beaumont Health hosted its Autumn Gala on Nov. 10 at the MGM Grand Detroit. More than 550 guests enjoyed cocktails, a silent auction, dinner, and dancing. Proceeds benefited the campus expansion at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills.
Detroit Horse Power, an organization committed to teaching children skills for success by showing them how to care for horses on repurposed land in Detroit, hosted its Inaugural Gala on Nov. 9 at the Waterview Loft in Detroit. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a strolling dinner, a raffle, and a silent auction.
Cauley Ferrari of Detroit in West Bloomfield hosted Uncork for a Cure on Nov. 9. The evening included a strolling dinner, wine, a trunk show featuring Roberto Coin Fine Jewelry, and luxury cars. Proceeds benefited the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center Breast Oncology Program and Breast Care Center.
On Nov. 8 at the Henry Hotel in Dearborn, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Detroit Chapter held its annual National Philanthropy Day Dinner for more than 700 guests. The evening included a cocktail reception, a plated dinner, and an awards ceremony that honored individual, corporate, and foundation donors and volunteers.
The Detroit Bar Association awarded Hon. Robert J. Colombo Jr., chief judge of the 3rd Judicial Circuit Court, with the 14th Annual Dennis W. Proceeds fund free legal clinics and community outreach programs.

The event featured Daniel Crosby, a renowned expert on understanding and capitalizing on the intersection of mind and markets, and David Kelly, who shared his economic and market outlook for 2019.
