2018 Area Home Sales Down, Median Sales Price Up

Home sales in Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties dropped 4.7 percent in 2018 compared to 2017, according to the 2018 annual review by the RE/MAX Housing Report of Southeastern Michigan.

Detroit Residential Property Values Rise 12 Percent in 2018

Residential property values last year rose across more than 90 percent of Detroit’s nearly 200 neighborhoods, says Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. It is the second year in a row that values have increased — with a 12-percent average rise in value citywide last year.

Flagstar Bancorp of Troy Reports 2018 Income of $187M, Fourth Quarter Gains of $54M

Troy-based Flagstar Bancorp Inc. reported net income of $187 million during 2018, compared to $63 million in 2017. Its adjusted net income was $176 million last year, up from $143 million in 2017. On an adjusted basis, the company realized a 23-percent increase in net income for the full year 2018.

The 12-month total for 2018 single-family home permits finished at 5,192, making the year the second-best since 2006, when 6,962 permits were issued, according to the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan in Farmington Hills.
